Dental Clinic Web Development

Overview:

The client was a well known individual dental clinic located in southern California. In order to compete against other dental clinics around the area, the client requested Techome to create a multifunctional website that is easy to use and maintenance.

The objectives and requirements of this website were not specified at the beginning of the design phase. The owner of the clinic had vague ideas. Cleverly, Techome web development team surveyed the dental clinic workers to get some ideas for the functionality of the website. The survey results were extremely helpful. The workers wanted a blend of wiki, forum, and normal static website. The web development team was able design the website immediately.

In consideration for creating a cost saving, and user oriented website, the web development team used open source technologies to complete this project. The following open source technologies were used for this web development: APACHE, PHP, JQUERY, MYSQL, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.

Key Features:

Resource management tool was built using PHP. This tool allows existing customers to schedule future dental appointments using the website. The resource management tool interacts with the clinics customer database updates appointment and schedule in real time.

The basic website was built using Wordpress as the content management system. Wordpress is an open source blog tool created with PHP. The web development team designed and applied the website theme. The team also taught several staffs on how to maintenance and update the website through Wordpress.

Finally, instead of actually building a complex web portal, the web development team integrated wiki and forum for the community section of the website. This feature enables customers to get more information about the dental clinic.
