The client already has a well functional and fashionable e-commerce website, but the client wanted to create a website for their mobile users since more than 80% of US population is subscribed to some sort of cellular phone plan according to US census and CTIA research.

The original website included arts and crafts events, store locator, e-commerce, and community forum. For the mobile web development, the client also requested Techome to keep all the features from the original website, but improve on the loading speed. Techome mobile web developers had to carefully select images and textures that represent the client from the originally website. For contents with lots of text, our engineers added read more links. Most of e-commerce images were replaced with clear and small pictures. Events are re-organized into simple sentences with smaller images displays. As for the forum, categories and main topics titles are loaded first, then the mobile user can choose to view a specific topic. In addition, Techome team also made sure that the metadata is periodically updated. 

The following technologies were used: XML, xHTML, xSLT, JSP, Struts, MySQL, Hibernate, and Java.
