This is a follow up project for website maintenance and web support. Awhile ago, Techome team built an interactive website and web community for a university in Europe. The university was extremely satisfied with the overall website development. Their students and staffs have been using the school website as an educational tool and a mini social network widget. The school IT club members even created two new add-on applications for the website. |
New Challenge
With website traffic higher than the school has anticipated, the website experience loading problem, as well as denied of service attacks. In addition, the students wanted to add new features for the website and web community. When designing the website, Techome team built a frontend control panel for university web administrators from the content management system (CMS). The administrators were trained to modify the website and web community using the control panel. It was difficult to include the new features using only the frontend control panel.
Solution
With permission from the university, Techome web development team demonstrated the proper usage of the content management system to the IT club members. The IT club worked along side of Techome web development team to improve the school website. Also, Techome website maintenance and web support team tested the website thoroughly to ensure that there were no corrupted data or security vulnerabilities from the denied of service attacks.
Result
During the following month, Techome website maintenance and web support team trained the school IT club members to be self efficient in using the content management system. Techome web development team trained school IT staffs to watch out for denied of services attack patterns. In addition, the website maintenance and web support team offered to do major maintenance every three months for the next two years. The school now has a stable and workable website and web community.

You might be curious about: How did the Techome team train the university IT club members and IT staffs? Did the university have to pay for the travel fair?
Answer:
The entire training program is done online, so the university did not have to pay for Techome engineers to go overseas to Europe. Our engineers recorded many content management system tutorials for the university IT club members and IT staffs. If the client has anymore questions, Techome team would create an online meeting. During this meeting, the Techome team’s computer is shared with the client. Techome team demonstrated the solutions step by step.
Question:
How will Techome team perform website maintenance and web support from China?
Answer:
Techome team manages and monitors the website through remote access. The maintenance team will give a notice to the university before school go to vacation. With school permission, Techome team will perform maintenance and updates. This include making sure that all technology used are up to date with the current version, so there are no security vulnerabilities.
